SunnY Day At Sans Souci

RS009 Giclee print on canvas s/n (16x20") $200

Paul Gauguin's daring use of color and composition was the inspriation
for capturing this Waikiki beach scene. I also love opal, my birthstone,
and wanted the painting to imitate the qualities of that gem. I tried a
new technique using old brushes with missing bristles. As constrasting
warm and cool colors were laid down, the missing bristles causes gaps that
allowed the under-color to come through, and I was quite pleased with
this experiment. To this day, I save my old brushes just in case
I want to do a similiar project.
